Latest Updates from Our Project:

New trailers with the voices of Raziel + Kain! 🩸
over 1 year ago – Wed, Feb 12, 2025 at 06:27:56 AM

We have an exciting little treat for you today, with our brand-new trailer cuts for the Book of Nosgoth and Scourge of the Sarafan.

You may hear some familiar voices... big thanks to Ben Starr for narrating our trailers, and guest star Michael Bell (voice of Raziel) on our Scourge of the Sarafan trailer, and guest star Simon Templeman (voice of Kain) on our Book of Nosgoth trailer.

It was an absolute joy getting to meet, speak with, and work with the two legends themselves.

We'll be sharing some more artist Q&A deep dives, details on our book foreword, and more in the coming days - and hey, possibly even the vampire ruleset stretch goal unlock? 🤞

A deep dive on artist Artyom Trakhanov! 🎨
over 1 year ago – Tue, Feb 11, 2025 at 10:55:11 AM

Today, we're shining a spotlight on one of the artists behind our Legacy of Kain collection.

Artyom Trakhanov is an exceptionally talented comic book and video game artist, with a deep love for Legacy of Kain as a franchise. We asked them to give us some insights into their work, what the series means to them, and some examples of their past work.

We've worked with Artyom before on our [lock-on] gaming journal books, and we can't wait to see their work on the Deluxe Edition box of our Scourge of the Sarafan TTRPG!

Please check out some of Artyom's work at the links in this post - remember, the more you support artists, the cooler you are! 😉

Q: Please introduce yourself and let the audience know who you are, where you're from and where they might know your work from.

Artyom: Heya! I'm Artyom Trakhanov, a comics artist and illustrator from Russia (but I live in Serbia now, for Pretty Obvious Reasons).

You might know my work from comic books such as The 7 Deadly Sins or First Knife, or videogames with some very cool 2D art in them (Cantata and Dread Delusion).

Q: What does LoK mean to you? What's your relationship with the series?

Artyom: Hoooo, boy - there was a time when it genuinely meant EVERYTHING. Soul Reaver 1 & 2, Blood Omen 2, Defiance - other than Silent Hill games, this was the biggest franchise for me as a kid.

I even started learning my English properly thanks to these games. So a lot of my taste in games and stories in general goes back to LoK.

Q: How does it feel to create official LoK artwork?

Artyom: Still feels unreal every time I open my folder of Soul Reaver pictures to pull some WORK reference out of it.

Q: How did you hear about Lost In Cult, or Cook and Becker?

Artyom: I've been eyeing Lost In Cult for a year or two first - licking my lips and thinking about possibly doing some work for you guys at some point of time - and then the Elden Ring issue of [lock-on] magazine happened, and me and my friend Sergey Nazarov were lucky enough to contribute a couple of art pieces to it. So, I guess it was all downhill from there!

Q: Who's side are you on, Sarafan warriors or Vampires?

Artyom: Oh, Vampires, every day of the week. LoK has one of the best versions of them ever.

Q: Any message for the backers/fans?

Artyom: Hold on there, people - the real-life vampires are not as immortal as they think they are.

Q: And where can they follow your work?

Artyom: I'm @vor-bokor on Bluesky, and if you're interested in seeing some of my artbooks and fanzines - you can find a lot of them on itch.io here.

You can also find Artyom's art prints on Inprint here, support them on Patreon, or commission art via BuyMeACoffee.

🔓 New stretch goal UNLOCKED! All eyes now on the vampire ruleset goal 🤞
over 1 year ago – Mon, Feb 10, 2025 at 09:46:36 AM

Well, well, welll... another stretch goal achieved! 🥳

This means, on top of the previous stretch goal unlocks, the Scourge of the Sarafan book will now have a foil embossed front cover for anyone who has included a copy of the TTRPG in their order, making it an even higher-quality tome to adorn your tabletop or shelf. We'll provide some more details on this at a later date.

Of course, the very highly requested £400k stretch goal, unlocking a vampire ruleset, is now within sights. With just over 2 weeks left for the campaign, we're confident we can do this. All of your support and sharing of this campaign massively helps us reaching other Legacy of Kain fans and making both our encyclopedia and TTRPG better for everyone.

In the meantime, just in case we truly do take this campaign to the moon, we're busy cooking up another list of potential stretch goals - we'll reveal this once we surpass the existing stretch goals.

As a reminder, so far you have unlocked:

🖼️ £250,000: Art prints for the Encyclopedia

🎨 £275,000: Art expansion for Scourge of the Sarafan from Lukasz Kowalczuk

📖 £300,000: Marbled end papers for the encyclopedia

🎨 £325,000: Art expansion for Scourge of the Sarafan from Alexey Gorboot

🔖£350,000: Bookmark for all backers for use in either book

🚫🔒 £400,000: Vampire ruleset for Scourge of the Sarafan

🚫🔒 £425,000: ??? - to be revealed with next set of stretch goals when unlocked

Stay tuned to our updates during the week, as we'll be revealing some details about our encyclopedia foreword, some more details about already-revealed artists involved in the campaign, a brand new campaign video featuring a familiar voice - and, who knows, possibly the next stretch goal unlock! 🤞

£350,000: Bookmark UNLOCKED 🔓
over 1 year ago – Fri, Feb 07, 2025 at 05:12:27 AM

Another stretch goal reached in incredible time! ALL backers will now receive a bookmark with their order.

Save your spot in the Encyclopedia or Scourge of the Sarafan rulebook with a bookmark designed to compliment the look and feel of both tomes. We will reveal artwork, design and material at a later date 👀.

Thank you for all your support so far. Every stretch goal celebration brings us closer to making this collection the biggest and best it can be. See you at the next stretch goal 🪦

Legacy of Kain: Defiance EU 21st Anniversary 🥳
over 1 year ago – Thu, Feb 06, 2025 at 09:56:41 AM

"Given the choice – whether to rule a corrupt and failing empire or to challenge the Fates for another throw, a better throw, against one's destiny – what was a king to do?

But does one ever truly have a choice?  One can only match, move by move, the machinations of Fate, and thus defy the tyrannous stars." — Kain

Legacy of Kain: Defiance hit EU shelves today back in 2004. To celebrate, we've raided the archives for some Defiance concept art from series legend Kory Heinzen.

What are your favourite memories of Legacy of Kain: Defiance?
