Firstly, from all of us at Lost In Cult and Cook and Becker: what a week! We are so happy you have all resonated with our project – and are as ravenous for more Legacy of Kain as we are!
You may be asking: who the f*!k are Lost In Cult?
Lost In Cult are an award-winning creative studio and Amazon-bestselling book publisher. What do we do? In a sentence: if it's physical media and video game related, we're into it.
Our aim is to preserve video game culture in every way we can, from telling its history in books like A Handheld History and The Console Chronicles; recording a game's development journey in our Design Works range; bringing previously digital-only soundtracks to vinyl like Slay The Princess — The Pristine Cut – and soon, we may even be turning our eye to physical video game releases. We've shared some images of our past works below!
We also run [lock-on]: a periodical journal filled with articles and interviews from games industry veterans, developers, journalists and community members – all accompanied by incredible bespoke artwork and illustrations. Our latest issue, 006, is filled to the brim with reflections on the Zelda and Final Fantasy series, as well as an interview with Castlevania veteran Koji Igarashi, community reflections on Animal Crossing, and much more.
Since we were founded in 2020, we have worked with increasingly popular games franchises. Working with Crystal Dynamics on a Legacy of Kain project is an absolute bucket list achievement for us. We cannot wait to bring your favourite game to life, preserving its history in physical form.

Stretch Goals announced… with one already unlocked 🔓

The Lost In Cult team have been excitedly finalising everything for our first stretch goal announcement today – only for our community to already hit our first target before we even went live!
We are again blown away by your response to this project. In response to hitting funding in under one hour(!), we have created our first set of stretch goals:

£250,000: Art prints for Encyclopedia (UNLOCKED)
All-new art prints for all orders including the Encyclopedia! Each will celebrate the history and lore of Nosgoth, making them the perfect companion to this tome. We'll keep you updated with what this and more will look like in the near future.
£275,000: Art expansion for Scourge of the Sarafan
We will be working with renowned comic book artist and illustrator Lukasz Kowalczuk to bring you all-new art to the TTRPG. Lukasz has lent his bespoke style to countless creations such as Wyrd Science and multiple MÖRK BORG projects. His fantastic work is the perfect pair for our TTRPG, and we cannot wait to show it off in the future.

48 hours later, and we are still utterly blown away.
Our Legacy of Kain Official Encyclopedia and Tabletop Role-Playing Game, as you probably know, has been fully funded. 🎉
In fact, it was fully funded in less than 1 hour, and at time of writing, we’re 7x above our original funding goal.
We’re thoroughly, utterly humbled - and, if we’re being honest, incredibly relieved, as this is not a conceptual stage crowdfunder. Work is already underway to hit our current deadline goals and deliver something exceptionally special.
Know that we genuinely are reading every comment, every suggestion, every question, every theory, and taking everything we can on board. Please continue posting in our Community comments - we'll see you over there!
It’s been a long, long time since this series has seen the love it has always deserved, so between the recent Soul Reaver 1&2 Remaster, the wonderful prequel graphic novel project, and our encyclopedia/archive and TTRPG, it truly feels like Legacy of Kain’s well-earned renaissance has arrived.
We’re not just here to gush, though. Ever the wishful thinkers, we had already been planning some stretch goals. Granted, I don’t think we thought we’d be needing them an hour after launching, but we’re keen to keep this excitement going.
